| December 16 | Ghostlight Productions has a new logo! Glenn, our friend over at Hemanes Design, helped create a black and white type that alone illustrates Ghostlight's tone and style brilliantly. From there we created blue light rays and effects to create still, motion, and web flash versions of the logo. Thanks, Glenn, for continuing to amaze us!

| December 15 | Anne Moore receives festival submission copies of her documentary "Czech Daze," which is a warmhearted look into the bizarre and beautiful traditions of the Clarkson Czech Festival. Dave was hired to finish the film's editing and sound.

| December 11 | James finished editing an interview he shot on December 8 with director Ivan Passer. The interview is for the DVD release of the 1966 film, "Intimate Lighting."

| December 7 | Rudolph and Sletten, a major construction company, receives its holiday video just in time to show to employees tonight. Just one day before shipping, the project's entire concept was changed. Dave and James re-edited the video from scratch in just 18 combined hours and managed to produce a very fun final product.

| December 3 | Dave and James were hired as cinematographers for the film "5 minutes" which they shot today. They used cool gear like a Steadicam and film lenses adapted for video, allowing a great film-look with a small budget.

| November 20 | Today we finished updating Ashleigh Sumner's reel, which showcases her talent for acting with new samples from films and television.

| November 6 | "The Prototype" premiere! The full-length film is finally shown to hundreds of friends and family on the big screen at Norris Theater, USC. The audience laughed in all the right places. Success! We received many kind compliments from audience members on our editing, graphics, and visual effects work. | October 30 | Happy Halloween! We usually enjoy dressing up and setting up ridiculous-cool haunted houses to pass candy out to little ones after scaring them to tears. This is our first Halloween doing absolutely nothing but work. But it's all for a good cause: "The Prototype" premiere on Sunday. Woo!

| October 29 | Congratulations to long-time friend Kirk on his beautiful wedding today. Our gift was a simple video of the ceremony and reception. We flew to Toronto, Canada for the week and had a great time. When we weren't hanging with Kirk, Kerry, and all our buddies we were sitting in coffee shops with our laptop working on a crazy train visual effect.

| October 24 | Today we completed our most technologically complex DVD ever. The disk will accompany the filmmakers and script for "4x4" on financing missions. Behind the seemingly graceful and simple interface of the DVD's menu environment are months of intense visual effects and programming work. Check out the "4x4" DVD!

| October 17 | How to light a kitchen on fire in postproduction. Go to a friend's house with a barbeque. Build a trough out of blackwrap. Fill with lighter fluid. Set up a camera. Shoot the fire in front of a black background. Make sure the flames are the right scale! Composite the flames over the shot. Add a little glow to help it blend. Here's the fire special effect.

| October 13 | "Hooray!" said the audience as they watched "If Love Be Blind" during the FAIF Film Festival tonight. We shot and edited this short film that screened to a sold-out audience at Mann Chinese 6 Theatres on Hollywood Blvd.

| October 6 | Congratulations to our friend Vanessa Ruane for her short film "Firefighter," which screened in the AFFMA film festival today at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood!

| October 2 | We spent today on the Warner Brothers Studio lot shooting bluescreen special effects for the independent film "4x4," which will put actors outside an SUV windshield. The effect is for the main menu of the film's DVD, which we were hired to create in order for the project to gain funding. Here's the "4x4" DVD.

| September 27 | "The Prototype" private premieres are announced for November in Los Angeles and Dallas! Dave and James were editor and assistant editor on the full-length dark comedy. | September 22 | "If Love Be Blind" was accepted to the FAIF Film Festival! Writer, director, and actor Will McFadden asked us to be cinematographers and editors on this short romantic comedy. The festival is being held at Mann Chinese 6 on Hollywood Blvd. Our film shows on October 13 th at 10:45 so mark your calendars. Congratulations, Will!

| September 3 | Director John Badham requested more copies of his reel on DVD and other formats. Before we did that, James fixed the video's black levels and audio levels. Enough, James! It's perfect!

| August 31 | "The Prototype," directed by Chris Cantwell, had its first test screening tonight with much success. Now it's time for Dave and the crew to make a few changes to the cut.

| August 17 | Today we had an ADR session to replace dialogue in the first scene of Will McFadden's film "If Love Be Blind," which we shot and edited some time ago. It sounds SO much better now!

| August 9 | Filmmaker Brenda Brkusic and James shot and edited a PSA to be aired on MTV.

| August 4 | Today we went to the 2005 Siggraph Exhibition to see the latest in computer graphics, special effects, and technology. Some highlights included glasses-less 3D monitors, 3D software sneak peeks, and a "Star Wars" X-wing!

| July 2 | High school chum Nick Miura got married today! Congrats, buddy. What does this have to do with Ghostlight? Uh... he acted in some of our earlier films.

| June 23 | Chris, Sean, and Matt view more completed scenes from their film "The Prototype." We like where this is going...

| June 18 | At midnight we saw the best film of the summer. Christopher Nolan, we tip our hats.

| June 17 | Director Peter Hunt had us over for dinner to thank us for finishing his reel. Mr. Hunt has a huge list of film, TV, and theater credits including "Touched By An Angel," "Give 'Em Hell, Harry!," "Life On The Mississippi," and "1776" on Broadway and on film.

| June 15 | Dave finished editing the first scene of "The Prototype" today! Only 118 scenes to go!

| June 13 | A very tough effect shot was shipped today. Mike Hull, a producer for Hewlett-Packard, gave us footage of a man with a laptop in a small town in India, which we had to blend out into a giant camera move, zooming out to space for a view of Earth. HP used the shot in a presentation about providing internet access to remote areas. Just in time, too. Today Dave began jury duty. Good thing we bought that laptop! |
| June 12 | James takes very nice headshots for actor Aaron Fischer. You can see some of them on Aaron's website.

| June 9 | "The Prototype" is in post-production! Director Chris Cantwell, cinematographer Matt Wyatt, and actor/producer Sean Bury, along with many others, just finished shooting this full-length film in Dallas and have come to us for editing it. Today, James began digitizing and synching sound for their 35 hours of footage. Dave begins editing early next week. We're very excited to be part of this project. Thanks, guys! Also, James revised our invoice system. It's super neat and tidy. |
| June 6 | Ghostlight aquires a new family member: a 15" Powerbook laptop. It's supped up so we can do things like write, edit video, burn DVDs, and even work on 3D animations while we're on the road. We love you, Apple!

| May 26 | Rudolph and Sletten, a huge construction company, just received a DVD documenting a new build site for insurance purposes. Unable to keep things simple, Dave created a DVD menu allowing the viewer to select material of a specific area by clicking on a blueprint of the worksite. Thanks to photographer Jeff Farsai for coming along to San Francisco.

| May 20 | James tapes the first auditions for a feature film in the earliest stages of pre-production. Shh! Don't tell anyone.

| May 7 | George Cornelius' hilarious film "Shirtless Sheeba" premiered at USC today. Dave was visual effects supervisor and provided the main title, an explosion, and end credits.

| May 6 | Congrats to Dieter Schmitz on his brand-new super slick actor's reel!

| April 28 | Today we delivered visual effects and credits for the short action comedy "Shirtless Sheeba," directed by George Cornelius. One shot involved compositing a motorcycle, explosion, and a schoolgirl on top of a winding road.
